What is the main purpose of this course?
This course is aimed at developing effective reading skills that help students to synthesize knowledge from different sources, connecting it with their experience and creating their own unique knowledge base as a result. The main goal of the course is to introduce the student to the art of analytical, interpretive and critical reading. A secondary goal of the course is to provide students with all ways and methods of sensible and thoughtful reading. A third goal of the course is to offer students a general awareness of how great books and ideas connected with contemporary developments, problems, and advances in science and art.
